Dalmeny Primary School is cock-a-hoop with its recent success following a positive inspection by Education Scotland.

Parents, children and staff welcomed Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland’s Languages, Dr Alasdair Allan this week to celebrate their achievements.

The school received ‘very good’ evaluations for all quality indicators following the inspection, and was praised for the progress in implementing Curriculum for Excellence.

Inspectors also praised the school’s strong community partnerships and the children’s use of ICT for researching and presenting their work.

Staff were also commended for their hard work, with the head teacher’s leadership highlighted in leading improvements.

Inspectors found that children’s experiences at Dalmeny were greatly enhanced by a wide and varied range of links with community groups and businesses.

These had helped the children develop a strong sense of citizenship and an understanding of the contribution they make.
