Improving attainment in Bo’ness Academy will be high on the agenda for the new session.
Along with all the other secondaries in the Falkirk Council area, the management team will meet with education officials to see where improvements can be made.
At a meeting of the local authority’s education executive on Tuesday, new director of children’s services Robert Naylor will tell members of the plans, particularly how they will target certain young people.
His report to committee states: “The attainment and achievements of vulnerable groups such as looked after children and pupils otherwise at risk of underperforming will also be scrutinised.”
The move comes as the academy pupils begin enjoying the benefits of their new School of Sport.
Attendance and behaviour will be monitored before youngsters can take part.
