Pupils, parents and staff at Springfield Primary School, Linlithgow, are having wheelly good fun scootering and cycling to school as part of The Big Pedal competition.
The competition, which is organised by the charity SUSTRANS, ra from March 2-20 and it was open to individual classes as well as whole schools. On each day of the challenge schools compete to see who can record the greatest number of pupils, staff and parents cycling or scooting to school. Then the school’s best 10 days will determine the final position. Teacher Ewan Logan, Springfield Primary School’s junior road safety officer co-ordinator, said: “Each day our two JRSOs record the results for each class, this includes pupil, parent and staff journeys on the website.”
