The free swimming programme which is funded by West Lothian Council allows all youngsters aged under 15 to swim for free at Xcite pools, Monday to Friday, from 10am-4pm at pools across West Lothian.
Venues offering the free swimming sessions include Xcite pools at Armadale, Bathgate, Livingston, Whitburn, Broxburn and Linlithgow.
The programme also runs at West Lothian Council run facilities at Inveralmond Community High School, Deans Community High School and at Fauldhouse Partnership Centre.
The West Lothian Council funded programme aims to encourage young people to keep active and healthy during the school holiday periods.
Robin Strang, Chief Executive of Xcite, added: “Swimming is an excellent form of exercise with significant health benefits. It is important that children from an early age learn the habit of taking regular exercise and the free swimming initiative provides young people in West Lothian with opportunities to be healthy and have fun at the same time.
“This initiative provides a fun and healthy activity at fantastic facilities all across the county, which makes it accessible to everyone.”
Dave King, Executive councillor for culture and leisure, added: “Tens of thousands of young people take advantage of this fantastic free programme each year, making it one of the most popular activities on the holiday calendar.
“The facilities we have across West Lothian are tremendous and provide young people and parents with a free, fun filled activity within their local communities.”
Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
