West Lothian recycling centres accepting electrical goods again

Electrical goods are now being accepted again at West Lothian’s recycling centres.

Local residents can bring along unwanted and broken electrical items to any of the five recycling centres at Blackburn, Broxburn, Linlithgow, Oakbank in Livingston or Whitburn.

All recycling centres are open from 10am to 6pm, seven days per week, with last entry 15 minutes before closure.

Executive councillor for the environment Tom Conn said: “We are delighted to be able to offer local residents the chance to recycle their electrical items once more.

“Our contractor who processes electrical items for recycling has confirmed that they can accept the material again which ensures this material is being handled in an environmentally responsible way.

“Thanks to local residents for their patience while we worked to restore this service, which was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. We appreciate that many people have been storing items on their property until they are able to dispose of them in an appropriate way.”
