The Braes Children and Families Centre in Falkirk is celebrating an £80,500 grant from the STV Appeal 2014.
The centre, in Maddiston, supports lone parents and carers and their children across Falkirk district.
Carrol Wilcox, manager, said: “The support we offer ultimately improves the outcomes for children to provide them with an opportunity to have the best start in life.
‘‘Parents will develop their self-esteem and confidence in their parenting abilities, and their ability to seek further education and training.
‘‘It is hoped that by offering early intervention we can reduce the demand for statutory service intervention as well as improving outcomes for Falkirk.”
Since launch in 2011, the STV Appeal has raised over £8.2 million with 297 big and small grants distributed to projects across all 32 local authority areas in Scotland, providing much needed support to over 37,000 children.
