Pantoland is coming to South Queensferry this year in the form of a space-age farce.

Locally-based Forth Dimension Musical Productions is set to perform “May the Farce be with You” to audiences at the Scout Hall at Port Edgar from Tuesday, December 1 to Saturday, December 5.

The amatuer dramatics group for adults and children was formed in the late 1970s.

In years gone by, it staged lavish musicals but now it opts for an annual pantomime and a musical concert.

For this year’s production, members have been in rehearsal since August and now with just days to go till the group tread the boards at the Scout Hall, the cast members are really looking forward to performing with the younger members said to be ‘very excited’ at taking part.

The panto storyline centres on space superhero Luke Warmwater who must thwart the evil plans of Lord Garth Invader, and thereby saving the Galaxy from destruction.

With his two female robots, Strop and PMT, he is forced to seek refuge from Garth Invader in Jack’s beanstalk - which is so large it is visible from outer space.

Unfortunately, it is inhabited by a blood-thirsty and hungry Giant. Will Luke escape his two dangerous enemies and will Jack find his fortune at the top of the beanstalk?

Performances are nightly at 7.15pm with tickets still available for the opening night, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

Tickets, priced £8 adults, £7 concessions and £6 child, are available on 0131 331 3850 or at
