FREE eye tests for nursery school children are being rolled out in the Forth Valley area, which includes Bo’ness, Blackness and Whitecross.
The scheme aims to help tots start school with the best sight possible, and the 10-minute test with a professional involves matching pictures or letters and following lights.
NHS Forth Valley’s Alison Drummond said: “It is important that children have their eyes tested at a young age as vision problems are best treated while their eyes are still developing.
“The test is fun and is designed for children at this age. It looks for eye problems such as a squint, muscle imbalance and vision problems such as a lazy eye.”
If any problem is suspected, children will be referred to hospital specialists for further tests and treatment will be offered if required.
