From Fife to Falkirk: Dr Bob and friends hit trail to new Maggie's

Marking the opening of Maggie's Forth Valley will be a band of intrepid supporters from Fife.

Led by Dr Bob Grant, they will cover the 46-mile route from Maggie’s Fife in Kirkcaldy to the new Larbert facility.

Their walk started on Friday and they hope to be at the Forth Valley centre around lunchtime today (Monday).

Dr Bob, as he is best known, was diagnosed with cancer as a teenager and in 2002 decided to have his leg amputated after living with years of pain and infection.

That hasn’t stopped him taking part in five previous walks for Maggie’s. He said “Doing a walk to Forth Valley has always been in my mind, so, when the invite to its official opening came through the post, I thought this was the time to do it.”
