Get yer boots on, saddle the nag and mosy on down to Bo’ness Town Hall from November 18 to 22 to catch Calamity Jane.
Bo’ness Amateur Operatic Society is staging the popular Western musical, adapted from the film of the same name that starred Doris Day and Howard Keel.
It tells the story of ‘Calam’ who dresses like a man, totes a gun and drives the Deadwood City stagecoach.
Well-meaning, but disaster-prone, she tries to help the local saloon proprietor out of a jam by promising to fetch a music-hall star from Chicago.
A hilarious comedy, it nevertheless has many tender moments and some very famous numbers, including “Black Hills Of Dakota and “Windy City”.
Bo’ness Amateur Operatic have been bringing musical theatre to Bo’ness for more than 100 years.
A small and very friendly company, BAOS produces a wide range of shows from Gilbert and Sullivan and Cole Porter to Rogers and Hammerstein.
The company is always looking for new members to join or help out backstage.
