A much-used footpath in Queensferry is set to be closed after City of Edinburgh Council deemed it too dangerous to remain open.

It was closed after further land slippage on the embankment above the path, leading down from the bowling club.

The council has instructed specialist contractors to undertake further investigative work to assess the extent of the problem and to ensure suitable remedial work can be undertaken to address the issue.

Neil McKinlay, chairman of Friends of Ferry Glen, has advised that it is likely to remain closed for some time.

This path is only a small part of the recreational area and walkers and cyclists can still enjoy all the other cycle/walkways.
