Oliphant Bakers of Linlithgow has been recognised as one of the best bakers in Scotland at a glittering ceremony hosted by trade association, Scottish Bakers.
The baker, which has branches in both Linlithgow and Bo’ness, took a regional gold and national silver award for its mint slice and regional silver for its bloomer loaf.
“We are extremely pleased to be recognised as one of Scotland’s best bakers” said baker David Gibson.
“We take our business very seriously and we use traditional methods and craftsmen’s skills but we could not have come this far in the competition without our dedicated and skilled team or the votes of all of our customers to who we say ‘thanks’.”
Owner of award winning Little Venice Cake Company and judge on ITV’s Britain’s Best Bakery, Mich Turner, presented the awards.
He said: “It has given me great pleasure to be involved in the competition again this year.
‘‘There have been some fantastic entries and all the prizes I have handed out to bakers have been worthy in every way.
‘‘I wish all our winners well in the coming year as one of Scotland’s premier craft bakers.”
