Golf legend Sam Torrance spent an evening in Linlithgow’s Star and Garter Hotel

Golf legend, Sam Torrance, was centre of attention at the Star and Garter Hotel as he delighted fans with stories from his incredible career.

The now golf commentator, shared hilarious tales from his upbringing in Largs to stories from over four decades on the European Tour, having played alongside the likes of the late Seve Ballesteros, Lee Trevino and Jack Nicklaus.

A six-time Ryder Cup winner and victorious captain, he also talked about his love of the biennial tournament, having tasted victory four times as a player, once as a captain and as vice-captain.

A Night with Sam Torrance was hosted by legendary broadcaster Dougie Donnelly and was sponsored by Caledonian Best, a Scottish ale company which Torrance is ‘Clubhouse Captain’ of.

Star and Garter owner Ross Wilkie was thrilled with the event.
