West Lothian Golf Club, the prime mover in creating free tee-off times for serving members of Her Majesty’s Forces, hosts its Pro-Am tournament on Thursday, June 2.

The main beneficiary of this year’s competition will be the Help for Heroes charity.

West Lothian is the first golf club in the UK to offer free tee times to those serving in the Armed Forces a scheme which has brought it national recognition. Spectators are welcome.

Throughout 2011 West Lothian Golf Club is offering a 2pm tee time from Monday to Thursday for those who are enlisted in any of the armed services.

To further its support it is donating a percentage of the entry fees from the Pro-Am to Help the Heroes and also inviting serving officers to participate. Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Research will also take place on the day.

The Pro-Am is a counting competition for professional golfers on the Tartan Tour.
