Monica McGill and guide dog Waffle have won the Life Changing Award at the Guide Dogs 2014 annual awards.
Monica (46), of Springfield, Linlithgow, and her guide dog won the award because of the way Waffle had helped Monica get her life and career back on track.
Monica, who works at Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, said: “I was just scared the whole time; scared of leaving the house, of going to work, of moving around at my workplace.
“I even used to sit hungry or in need of the toilet at work because I was too scared to move out of my office.
“Being out with Waffle is the most natural thing in the world.”
