West Lothian Council will fully embrace the IT revolution after a successful year-long iPad pilot. Over the year, members of the council’s Partnership and Resources policy development and scrutiny panel, and officers that work with panel members were issued with iPads. The aim was to reduce costs and the environmental impact of printing large numbers of committee papers and other internal documents, making the council more efficient. Following the pilot, the council will now issue iPads to all elected members, and has also approved plans to provide public Wi-Fi in West Lothian Civic Centre.
