Keep in touch post haste, tourists told

Passengers from cruise ships arriving in the Forth are being invited to send a ‘postcard’ back to the volunteers who welcomed them ashore.

Up to 20,000 postcards will be handed over the next few weeks as the cruise season reaches a climax.

Last weekend four ships carrying 7500 passengers dropped anchor at Queensferry and Rosyth.

And as the visitors returned to their ships, they were handed a postcard of the Forth Bridge, and invited to send one of their pictures to the website when they return home.

Forth Bridges Cruise Project leader Peter Wilson said: “We have built up a good relationship with the cruise ships. Now we want to know what they think, as a means of encouraging others to visit, and to raise awareness of the local area.’’
