A Linlithgow artist is about to unveil his work to a London audience for the first time as a solo exhibitor.
Leo du Feu’s solo exhibition opens at the Royal Overseas League with a media preview on Tuesday, April 21, and will run until the end of June.
Said Leo: ‘‘This exhibition will be my first London solo show.
‘‘It will be a sort of overview of my work from the past six or seven years featuring Candard works, Scotland by Rail works, a selection of more recent outdoor watercolours and some other works.’’
The exhibition will go on show in the recently refurbished and very elegant bar room in Overseas House, Park Place, St James’s Street, London SW1A 1LR, the international headquarters of the Royal Overseas League.
Since graduating from college the Royal Overseas League has been extremely supportive of Leo’s work and he said he was delighted to be again working with it.
In 2010 a ROSL Arts Commonwealth travel scholarship funded Leo’s six week, 3000 mile adventure across Canada which resulted in a shared exhibition and publication of a book ‘‘Sketches from Canada’’.
In 2009 the ROSL’s Princes Street, Edinburgh, clubhouse was home to Leo’s solo debut ‘‘Waters of Scotland’’ during the Edinburgh Festival.
In 2011 ROSL Edinburgh hosted Leo’s ‘‘Scottish Landscapes by Rail’’ exhibition which also had the support of Scotrail.
This summer, during the festival, ROSL will enable Leo to link up withhis mother, Susan Smith, to exhibit together.
