LINLITHGOW Palace and the Peel was awash with visitors when Historic Scotland staged its annual jousting event there.
More than 10,000 people turned out to watch the spectacle when it is staged over the past two weekends.
Gillian Urquhart, Historic Scotland spokeswoman said: “Once again we have had a fantastic jousting event with re-enactments and family activities such as archery and demonstrations of falconry.
“The first weekend got off to a brilliant start with around 5000 people attending.
‘‘We were very lucky that, even though there was some rain, it stayed mostly dry.
‘‘Visitors came well prepared for both the sunshine and rain and didn’t let it diminish the fun in any way.
“The park and ride arrangements with Oracle ran smoothly and we are grateful to them for their assistance.’’
