The first affordable homes to be built in a generation in Linlithgow are progressing well say West Lothian Council.

The development includes four one-bed cottage flats, four two-bed cottage flats, four two-bed houses and one three-bed house. The eight cottage flats and seven houses at Mill Road will be completed early next year.

Existing council tenants are able to apply to transfer into the new homes which then frees up existing council housing stock for new tenants.

Linlithgow is one of West Lothian Council’s high priority areas for affordable housing.

George Paul, executive councillor for services for the community, said: “We are very proud to be delivering new council homes in Linlithgow – the first new council homes in a generation.

“We are building 1000 new homes across West Lothian and our partnership with McTaggart Construction will provide attractive, well-designed modern homes for residents.”
