A cake in the shape of the Kelpies is on display at a bakery in Linlithgow and is attracting a lot of attention.

Earlier in the year Truly Scrumptious were asked to bake a wedding cake in the shape of the Falkirk tourist attraction.

Owner Susan Archibald said: “The couple were getting married this summer and were just mad about the Kelpies. So they asked for a replica of the two horse heads for their big day.

“We were more than happy to help.”

The shop opened in 2003 and creates spectacular and tasty cakes for a variety of occasions.

Susan said: “We enjoyed making the Kelpies cake so much that we decided to make another one and it was good timing too, with all that has gone in Linlithgow recently.”

This month the town hosted its book festival and Kelpie designer Andy Scott was in attendance, a friend of the couple who ordered the original cake.

Also during the Linlithgow Book Festival, miniature versions of the Kelpies, Maquettes, were on display in the town centre.

The cakes that sit in the window of the award-winning shop have attracted a lot of attention from passers-by.

Susan said: “Everyone seems to smile when they walk by and see our beautiful cake in the window. The Kelpies have been a great attraction in Falkirk, and ours aren’t too bad either.”

Truly Scrumptious is located at the Cross on the High Street for anyone wishing to have a peek at the cakes.
