DANCERS of all ages
impressed at the annual
performance from The Ballet Schools at Linlithgow

Last Friday and Saturday, an impressive programme of classical and modern pieces were staged, kicking off with the dance inducing ‘You Can’t Stop The Beat’ from hit musical Hairspray. What followed were pieces from Disney film ‘Tangled’, Phantom of the Opera, Avatar, Brave, Happy Feet, and Chicago. There was also a special take on the last year’s global Psy hit, ‘Gangnam Style’ and the finale was a collaboration of all the dancers in ‘Rock of Ages’.

Susan White does tap in the thriving adult dance section, and she said: “We have a brilliant time at the show! The kids are always brilliant, but I reckon the adults provide good entertainment value.”

The Ballet Schools’ principal Lyn Fitzsimons was full of praise for the dancers adding: “This year the children have done exceptionally well in many aspects of their dance work.

‘‘All of the children continue to impress and educate me with their modern ideas and their creative views to the world around them.”

And on the adult performers she added: “Once again they have exceeded my
expectations in every way and pushed the boundaries even further with their commitment and love of dance.”

The performers last weekend were Lower Linlithgow Ballet School, Upper Linlithgow Ballet School and Livingston Ballet School, Murieston Ballet School, and TBS First and Junior Associates.
