The Proclaimers have been announced as one of the headline acts for this year’s Party at the Palace.
John Richardson, who has the tough job of booking bands, said: “It is great news. We have wanted The Proclaimers for years and finally managed to get them. “This is their only Scottish gig this year so it will be a treat for Linlithgow.”
Organisers said they have listened to feedback from the crowd and decided to move the venue, allowing the use of a second stage.
Party at the Palace will be in the fields to the east of the loch and with two stages it promises there will be more variety, more performers and more music. A spokeswoman for the event said: “We have listened to feedback and the message was clear; people wanted more.
“The second stage allows us to invite more local bands as well as big names.
“Party at the Palace will still be in the shadow of the fantastic palace and people will be able to see across the loch, so the move is not that drastic.”
Orgaanisers also claim the shift in venue will allow for better access in and out of the festival.
The rest of the line-up for the family-friendly festival will be announced next week and organisers promise there will be something for everyone.
