Lothians MSP Neil Findlay is to front a new meeting on the Edinburgh Airport flight path consultation on Tuesday, March 14.
According to advance publicity representatives from the airport will be present as well as campaigners opposed to expansion of the present flight paths pattern.
The latest phase of the developing story about an ambitious bid to grow the airport’s capacity comes at the same time as figures showing a major increase in passenger figures for January over the same period last year.
A total of 781,752 passengers passed through the airport last month, an increase of 11.7 per cent over the same period in 2016, and the greatest growth was from international flights.
Edinburgh Airport chief executive Gordon Dewar said: “After a record-breaking 2016, it is fantastic that we start 2017 with strong figures.”
“We are now seeing the impact of launching 27 international services in 2016 - an 11.7 per cent growth in figures on this time last year, makes it the busiest January ever for Edinburgh Airport.”
The March 14 meeting is at Livingston Football Club (Tony Macaroni Arena) in Alderstone Road, Livingston EH54, at 7.30pm.
