Pals of Queensferry singer Gary Ralston staged a tribute night on Friday - 10 years after their friend died in an horrific road accident.
Gary (28) died in December 2003 and, outside of work at NHS 24 in the ‘Ferry, he was an accomplished guitarist and songwriter for the band Scram.
On Friday, in Kirkliston Bowling Club, his musical mates reunited for a charity fundraising gig in their pal’s honour.
The evening raised in excess of £1000 for the Fire Service benevolent fund. The fund had also benefitted from a collection at Gary’s funeral.
Said Gary’s mum, Leonora: ‘‘ Friday’s tribute was organised by Keith Holland, a friend of Gary’s from childhood.
‘‘He, his mum, and his sister did a huge amount of work to organise Friday’s event and I’m very grateful to everyone who took the time and trouble to remember Gary 10 years on from his tragic death.’’
‘‘The Abba song ‘Thank You For The Music’ was played at Gary’s funeral and it was fitting that Friday’s event was advertised with that same title. I was extremely touched by the response.’’
