Food, My Mother and Me, features interviews with Maggie’s Centre visitors and explores Kirstie’s own experiences with food.

Including recipes that have been passed on from friends and down through generations of family, the podcast will hear stories that range from the struggles people living with cancer have had with food and cooking, to funny, heart warming stories of food mishaps and how good, nutritious food can help people to live well with cancer.

Kellie Anderson, nutritionist at Maggie’s Edinburgh, said: “Eating well is especially important for people with cancer, and continues to be important well after the final treatment. Regardless of cancer type, eating a diet rich in good foods can boost your immunity, strength and health. In this podcast we explore the ways in which good food and nurturing oneself has played a part in getting through treatment - and beyond.”

As part of its programme of support, Maggie’s offers nutrition workshops to help introduce Centre visitors to specific foods that are particularly good for them and the best ways to enjoy them.

“Our team of professional staff includes a nutritionist at each Centre who can advise on healthy foods for people with cancer as well as helping make food more appealing when undergoing treatment.”
