The streets of London came to life in all their glory during the opening night of Oliver at Bo’ness Town Hall.
The gang of lovable little rogues from Bo’ness Amateur Operatic Society performed their dance routines and iconic songs to perfection and the costumes, sound and set design was polished and professional.
Nancy, played by Anne Easton, and Fagin, played by Willie Cunningham, were convincing characters and told the tale of Oliver, played by Owen Watkins, to a high standard.
Some of the highlights include the cutesy “I’d do Anything” and “Consider Yourself” which got the audience going but Nancy’s “As Long as He Needs Me” was a memorable moment from the evening as well.
The ladies who sang “Who Will Buy” must be given a special mention, particularly the milk maid, as their rendition of the London street market song was chilling and atmospheric.
The show is running every evening until Saturday, September 19 and tickets are still available to buy. Find them on Facebook at Bo’ness Amateur Operatic Society or phone the box office on 07790346384.
