Linlithgow Fireworks display

The annual firework festival in Linlithgow takes place this year on Saturday, November 1, but for the first time, there will be no bonfire this year.

Tickets go on sale next week for the event at Linlithgow Rugby Club’s Mains Park ground. The fireworks will be set off at 7.30 pm.

Tickets will be on sale at Far from the Madding Crowd, The News Shop, Norman Cummings, the Spar, Linlithgow Bridge and, of course, from the Rugby Club.

And this year there is a new deal. Linlithgow Rugby Club president Craig Young explained: “We have always said that it is very helpful if tickets can be bought in advance. It avoids queues on the evening.

“Therefore, anyone who buys tickets right up to Friday October 31, will pay the same price as last year – £10 for a family and £4 per individual.”

Explaining why this year’s event will not include a bonfire, Craig said: “There is no safe place to locate the bonfire now that we have built the new community training facility.”

He added: “There will still be a half -hour fireworks display and glow toys for sale, plus hot soup and other refreshments in the Club House with a barbeque too.

“So we will have all the usual ingredients that make the display a wonderful, safe, family evening.”
