RECORD crowds enjoyed the RNLI open day and family fun day at Queensferry last Sunday.

With warm temperatures drawing visitors to Queensferry, the local lifeboat station saw its funds boosted by over £3000 when it staged an afternoon of activities and entertainment.

Among the many events taking place on the Forth included a dramatic rescue exercise with the RNLI Queensferry Lifeboat and the Navy 177 search and rescue helicopter from HMS Gannet. The Scottish Coastal Rowing Queensferry Regatta was also staged between the Hawes Pier and Queensferry’s harbour.

On dry land there was a strongman display, music from the Army Cadets Pipe Band, a line dancing demonstration from the Caledonian Kickers and a rescue demonstration with Newfoundland Dogs. And throughout the day, various fun and food stalls helped to boost funds.
