Bo’ness Amateur Operatic Society will be performing “Oliver” in Bo’ness Town Hall from September 15-19 with Saturday matinee and evening performances.
his is the first time they have performed the show for 10 years. This year they have 20 children on stage from across the area. Oliver is the musical version of the Dickens novel, Oliver Twist. The show has comedy and tragedy with lots of well-known songs. The society was established in 1911 with Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Mikado” only stopping for the two wartime periods. They performed their productions first in Bo’ness Hippodrome and then at Bo’ness Town Hall. Look out for the society taking part in the Bo’ness Fair procession today (Friday).
