Dundee rockers The View have been added to the Party at the Palace in Linlithgow line-up.

The band, whose hits include Superstar Tradesman and Same Jeans have been signed up to play on Sunday, August 10, and will feature alongside headline act Simple Minds, Horse and The Silencers.

The band recently played three sell-out nights at the Oran Mor in Glasgow and will play at the Libertines comeback gig at Hyde Park in London next month.

John Richardson, of pdf productions, organisers of the two-day music festival, said: ‘‘We have had them signed up for the past two weeks but could not announce it until now.’’

Tickets for Party at the Palace are almost sold out but the organisers have now released VIP packages for those looking to make their day that extra bit special.

For £105, spectators will get access to a lochside VIP marquee, complimentary finger food, glass of bubbly, souvenir programme, posh ‘loos’, free park and ride, dedicated cash bar and more.

Existing ticket holders can upgrade to VIP for £50.

*The full line-up is: Saturday - Deacon Blue, Hue and Cry, James Grant (Love and Money), Attic Lights, The Bluebells and Donnie Munro; Sunday - Simple Minds, The View, Frightened Rabbit, Horse, The Silencers and Brownbear.
