HAPHAZARD car parking on Preston Road has driven pupils at Linlithgow Primary to campaign for their safety.
The Travel Plan group at Linlithgow Primary School wrote to the Journal and Gazette, local police and councillors as they are worried about the parking habits of parents who arrive at the school at the beginning and end of the day.
P7 teacher Deborah McDermott heads up the school’s eight-strong Travel Plan Group, formed three years ago with P4-P7 pupils.
She said: “It’s too late once somebody’s been knocked down. We want to act before it gets to this stage.
“The group did a survey at the start and end of the school day and there were cars as far as the eye could see up Preston Road and along the streets off it. The cars are in double figures and we’ve witnessed them parking on the pavements, and in no-go areas.”
