DOUGLAS Park in Bo’ness is to get a spruce up to the tune of just over £14,000.
The cash is from a £100,000 Falkirk Council budget for 2012-13 which will be split evenly between the district’s seven core parks.
Pitch and putt, new footpaths and seating, picnic benches and crazy golf were suggested during a consultation with Bo’ness Community Council, the Bo’ness Children’s Fair Committee and councillors.
Rugby goals, tree planting, dog dirt bins and better signposts were also among ideas put forward.
A youth shelter was mooted but the consensus seemed that it might not be appropriate for the park.
Falkirk Council will respond to each of the points made by the end of next week.
Subject to consensus, the improvements will proceed as soon as the work can be organised, to be completed before next March.
Where there is not a consensus, further discussions will take place.
Regeneration co-ordinator Wraight Shepherd said: “We are now in the process on responding to each of the points raised in the consultation.”
