A music event in Linlithgow struck a chord with voters as they came out on top, winning the Best Outdoor Festival in 2016.
Party at the Palace, which attracted over 15,000 music fans to the town this summer, staved off competition from the Dundee Flower and Food Festival, Live@Troon and Scotland’s Boat Show amongst others to be crowned the winners at the Scottish Outdoor Leisure Awards in Glasgow last night (Sunday).
The weekend gig in August boasted a number of big names including the Proclaimers, Big Country, Erasure and Billy Ocean in the line up, and its success has firmly cemented its place on the music festival calendar.
Director of Party in the Palace John Richardson said: “It was great to be recognised for the effort that the whole team has put in. We’re excited and determined to continue to develop and improve all the time and we’re looking forward to seeing what 2017 will bring.”
Co-director Peter Ferguson said: “Thank you so much to everyone who voted for us and to those who have supported us from day one. It really is an honour to see our hard work paying off. Not just for us, but for everyone who works tirelessly behind the scenes to help us deliver a great event.”
The line up for next year has yet to be announced but tickets are already on sale. Next year’s event will take place on August 12 and 13.
