Party at the Palace announced the full line up today, which also includes music from The Lightning Seeds, Razorlight, Ash, Noisettes and Stevie McCrorie, who won The Voice in 2015, and many others.

John Richardson, Party at the Palace co-organiser, said: “It’s all about bringing new faces to the town. It’s a great lift for Linlithgow with bars full and hotels booked up, right through the weekend.

“It’s good for local businesses as people might come back after the event for a day out to the town, so the benefits are felt way after the festival itself. It’s going to be the biggest party yet!”

Indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs will headline on Saturday, August 12, with solo artist Amy Macdonald bringing the curtain down on Sunday.

She said: “I’ve heard a lot of great things about Party at the Palace and I’m so excited that I’ll finally get to visit the festival.

“It’s in such a beautiful setting and I’m sure it will be a great weekend. My band and I are very excited about the show.”

Set against the stunning backdrop of Linlithgow Palace, the two-day spectacular looks like being one of the highlight in Scotland’s live music calendar.

At least 4000 tickets have been sold already with organisers hoping to shift another 10,000-12,000.

John said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome music fans to the party again this summer.

“We’ve set the bar very high in previous years by bringing some amazing artists to Linlithgow – from Deacon Blue and Simple Minds in our first year, to Nile Rogers, Travis, The Proclaimers and Billy Ocean, so, we are delighted to have the Kaiser Chiefs and Amy Macdonald alongside a host of other great bands.”
