THIS week’s Peep at the Past harks back to Linlithgow and the mid 1950s.
Submitted by Tom Old, of Linlithgow, it highlights the Nobel’s ammunition works at the Regent works. The factory which once stood there is now what is the Regent Centre, a shopping precinct with the likes of Tesco, the Bank of Scotland and various other businesses.
The Star and Garter Hotel can be clearly seen but the properties to the east of it on Edinburgh Road are now demolished as are the cottages situated on what is the car park at the Low Port Centre.
If anyone has a photograph they would like to submit for Peep at the Past, they can do so by sending it to Linlithgow Gazette, 114 High Street, Linlithgow, EH49 7AQ, or alternatively, email email@example.com.
