Bo'ness Fair, 1908
Bo'ness Fair, 1908

THE fashions may change but the excitement of being crowned fair queen or gala queen stays the same - not that you’d believe it looking at this rather stern shot of the principals in the Bo’ness Fair retinue of 1908 (left).

Fair Queen Annie Davidson, a Bo’ness Academy pupil, is pictured centre front with her maids of honour.

As she is wearing the crown it is clear that this celebration picture must have been taken shortly after her coronation.
