Howgate hunt for model shopper

A bevy of would-be models converged on the Howgate Centre at the weekend all hoping to be successful in the Model Search Scotland contest.

Organised by centre bosses in conjunction with Superior Model Management, the competition is open to anyone from four years upwards with the aim to find the face of their future promotion campaigns.

The model company has now whittled down the entrants to those they want to see back in the centre today before selecting a male and female finalist in each of the age categories – four to ten years, 11 to 15 years, 16 to 22 and 23 years-plus.

They will then be invited to take part in the Howgate’s fashion show on Saturday, May 28, part of the inaugural Falkirk Fashion Week.

All the finalists will also take part in photo shoots over the summer before being invited back for the Autumn Fashion Show in October when the judges will decide on their overall winner.

As well as a £200 Howgate gift card, the winner could be signed by the Superior Model Management.

Margaret Foy, the centre’s marketing manager, said: “Saturday was fantastic with over 300 entrants, many of whom had travelled from Glasgow and Lanarkshire for the competition. There was a great atmosphere in the centre all day as there was a number of events on and everyone enjoyed the scouting event.

“We’re now looking forward to this weekend when the finalists will be revealed.”
