The ever popular Elf Run in aid of Maggie’s Forth Valley took place in Larbert Woods last weekend.

Now in its fifth year, the event saw people of all ages complete a 1.5 mile route dressed as elves to raise vital cash for the cancer care centre. There were even some canine friends getting in on the act.

The festive fundraiser, which is family friendly, invites participants to walk, run, skip or cartwheel around the circular route through the woods near the local Maggie’s Centre at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

Refreshments and festive fun were to be had at the centre following the Elf Run. Among the entertainment was a performance by the Forth Valley Nurses Choir and the big man himself, Santa stopped by.

This year’s event raised £4300 for the charity, which supports those living with cancer and their families.

Cristina Pouso, centre fundraising manager for Maggie’s Forth Valley, said: “Our annual elf family fun run this year was such good fun. It’s great to see so many elves coming together to support Maggie’s. We’d like to thank every one who came on the day and spread some festive cheer”.
