Online learning set to return to Falkirk and West Lothian schools
Pupils at West Lothian and Falkirk Council schools will not return to class until January 18 at the earliest, following the Christmas holidays.
School staff will provide online learning from January 11, which is expected to continue until January 18.
Falkirk schools had originally been expected to return on January 7 and all parents have been contacted by the education department with the new arrangements.
Key workers who do not have any alternative childcare can apply for a place in one of the hubs which will be open from January 7.
All West Lothian Council schools and nurseries will also return later than originally planned following the festive holidays. This is in line with the latest Scottish Government advice.
Online/home learning will now resume on Monday, January 11. All learning will take place online until at least Monday, January 18.
The revised school opening schedule in West Lothian applies for the majority of pupils, but children of key workers and vulnerable pupils will be able to return to their school as planned on January 6.
