Graeme McCormack (36) and six-year-old Harry completed their challenge last Friday in aid of the specialist palliative care provider which looked after Graeme’s mum, Bernice, who died of cancer 20 years ago.

Aware that fundraising events for the Fankerton-based service had been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak, Westquarter Primary School pupil Harry agreed to join his dad in pounding the pavements to generate cash.

Graeme, who works for Walker Timber in Bo’ness as a production supervisor, praised both his son and four-month-old daughter, Rose, for playing their part.

He said: “Harry will run all day. Every single time we get a donation he has gone up the stairs to write it on the chalkboard.

“Rose has come out with her mum to give us a bit of motivation to run from her crying!

“It has been good fun. We’ve been trying to do a wee run up Callendar Road in Falkirk to keep away from the busy areas.

“My mum was in Strathcarron a few times and they were amazing with her.

“Harry says thanks very much. It’s amazing, especially when in tough times like these charity takes a backseat.

“For people to be donating and to have raised that much money is pretty amazing.”
