Slamannan switches on lights of first village Christmas tree in 20 years

Residents in Slamannan tuned in online to watch the village turn on lights of the community Christmas tree last night – the first time such a festive ceremony has taken place in 20 years.

Organised by members of Community Pavilion group and Slamannan and Limerigg Gala Day committee, the historic take place at the Samuel Frickleton war memorial in Bank Street at 7.30pm.

Due to social distancing and COVID-19 restrictions people were asked to view the big switch on by logging onto the Community Pavilion’s Facebook page.
