South Queensferry rotary club donates hats to seafarers
A talk at the Rotary Club of South Queensferry by David Graham-Service of the National Mission to Seafarers spurred several members to take up the knitting needles.
Club president Irene Brownless, Beverly Clarkson and Jeanette Clark produced more than 100 hats for seafarers. And club vice president Derek Clark received several hundred hats from paint manufacturers who often provide woolly hats to promote their products.
Beverly and Jeanette delivered the hats to the National Mission to Seafarers in Grangemouth where they were distributed to seamen.
Derek said: “This is not a Rotary project, but the ladies like knitting and as my contacts are happy to donate, we hope to continue with this worthwhile activity.”
