Winchburgh's tribute to Captain Sir Tom
Flowers were laid at Winchburgh War Memorial last Saturday in memory of Captain Sir Tom Moore, the WW2 veteran who raised more than £30 million for the NHS last year.
The village raised enough to cover the costs for Wendy Crawford to make the floral tribute, with the rest of the money raised to be donated to Winchburgh Food Bank.
Winchburgh’s gala queen Emily Walker laid the wreath on the day of Captain Tom’s funeral, accompanied by local piper Robert Reid. Wendy said: “I’d like to thank the people of Winchburgh for their generosity. Special thanks to our queen, the piper and the people who supported me through this lovely tribute.”
