PET Idol 2012 voting opens today, with the full galaxy of animals vying for the top title and star prize all featured in our special eight page supplement, which starts on page 17 of the paper.

We have been inundated with over 70 entries, from rabbits to dogs, cats to ponies, pigs and even a foal, each hoping to be the voters’ favourite and secure a canvas print of their picture (16x20 inch) worth an amazing £300!

And thanks to our fabulous competition partners, Rhoddy Stewart Photography in Bo’ness, who have professionally photographed each pet for free inclusion in today’s hall of fame, the runner up will win 12x8 print worth £45.

The Rhoddy Stewart Photography team have snapped the animals to perfection, both at their studio in North Street, and on site.

Now the fate of the Journal and Gazette Pet Idol 2012 title is in YOUR hands.

Using the coupon printed in today’s paper on page 24, it is you, the voting public who will determine the top 10 pets to feature next week.

All voting coupons (originals only) to decide the top 10 must be with us by noon next Wednesday, August 1, so get your skates on and start voting!

You can post your coupons or hand them in to 114 High Street, Linlithgow, EH49 7AQ.

Alternatively, drop them into the Bo’ness Journal postbox at Bo’ness Library (please note, if using this postbox, they must be in the box by 3pm next MONDAY, July 30, when the post is collected by the reporter).

Next Friday, August 3, the 10 finalists will be revealed, and a fresh public vote, with new coupons, will determine the top three pets.

These will be published on August 10, before the public votes again for the winner.

The Pet Idol 2012 winner will be unveiled in the paper of Friday, August 17.

Discounted reprints of the pet images have been available from the photographers.
