Pets at Home is opening a new store in Linlithgow on Thursday, March 31, providing a welcome boost to the local economy.

Pet lovers in Linlithgow will also see a Groom Room open inside the store.

The 10,000 square feet store has created 15 jobs for local people, having received more than 350 applications.

Store manager Allen Jennings has been with Pets at Home for two years, having previously worked at the Falkirk branch.

Allen said: “It’s been a busy few months and now my team and I can’t wait to open the doors and welcome our new customers to the store.”

Pets at Home provides thousands of dedicated pet products, catering for dogs, cats, small animals, chickens, reptiles, birds and fish.

All staff members receive extensive training on pet care and pet knowledge which is endorsed by City & Guilds.

Local pet owners will also see a Vets4Pets practice open in the store in the near future.

There will be a fully equipped surgery which will house an operating theatre, digital X-ray facilities, in-house laboratory and a hospital ward providing a wide range of treatments from health checks to emergency operations.

Area manager Neale Goulding said: “Pets at Home is committed to recruiting from the local area and I’m pleased we’ve found a team of talented individuals in Linlithgow. They’re all passionate about pets and can’t wait to start.”

The successful company has 415 sites employing 6000 people.
