‘Picktober’, a campaign run by Falkirk Council to reduce the amount of litter in the local countryside, is returning for a second year.
Throughout October an army of volunteers will combat litter along the John Muir Way.
‘Picktober’ will launch at Blackness Castle on Wednesday, October 1.
Councillor Jim Blackwood, Falkirk Council’s spokesman for public protection said: “Picktober’ proved an overwhelming success last year, with over 500 enthusiastic volunteers lifting five tonnes of litter.
“These volunteers showed what we can accomplish when we work together.”
