Linlithgow constituency, Conservative candidate Charles Kennedy - Scottish Parliament Elections 2021
This election is absolutely vital for the future of Linlithgow and the surrounding communities.
Voters on May 6 have a simple choice.
It’s between myself and the Scottish Conservatives and a relentless focus on our post Covid recovery or returning to the politics of division and another independence referendum under the SNP.
I have been privileged to be a councillor for Bathgate for the last four years and I want to build on that work in the Scottish Parliament.
I will put local people at the heart of my decision making.
Recent decisions around spaces for people and revised speed limits show the dangers of not listening to communities.
I will continue to work closely with them to have these removed from our streets.
I have also seen first-hand the devastating effect SNP cuts to local authorities have had on services and jobs.
The Scottish Conservatives will enshrine in law a fair funding deal for our councils meaning they will always be guaranteed a share of the Scottish budget.
The Scottish National Party have also failed to make any significant progress on reducing the poverty-related attainment gap in our schools.
I want to recruit extra teachers for our classrooms and have a laser-sharp focus on improving numeracy and literacy.
I was proud to stand up for United Kingdom in 2014.
Only a vote for me and the Scottish
Conservatives on the party list will help stop an SNP majority, halt their fresh drive for another independence referendum and ensure we are fully focused on Linlithgow’s recovery.
