EVEN the rain could not dampen the spirits when Linlithgow Round Table staged its annual fun day recently.
The event is their way of thanking the community and organisations that support them throughout the year for it not only generates funds for Round Table community causes, but also for all the organisations that take part. In total, including stall takings for the other groups, this year’s event generated around £3000 for the Linlithgow community.
Due to the unseasonal weather, the organisers had to, at the last minute, cancel all their outdoor activities and move everyone inside the Marches marquee at Mains Park.
Round Tabler Paul Sinclair said: “Although the programme changed to an indoor event only, the smiles and laughter confirmed we had another successful year - and the reports from the stalls also suggest that Linlithgow’s community helped by spending their hard earned cash.
“The fun day’s main goal has never been cash generation but promotion of Round Table and the supporting organisations - I myself was recruited to Round Table through the fun day - as were many of my fellow tablers.”
The organisers wish to thank everyone who turned up for the event and to Scotch Hop for providing a great entertaining Scotch Hop competition - where the best ‘Hoppers’ got some lovely prizes.
