Eight boys from Queensferry High School who play in the school’s volleyball team travelled recently to Orkney where they took part in a National School’s Volleyball Festival.
The group had travelled north on November 28 to showcase their skills on the island. The teams showed mixed results in the 32, 4x4 matches, however lady luck was smiling on the following day when the 6x6 matches got underway with a win in a thrilling nail-biting second set. Further wins followed against Orkney Women and Orkney School’s team.
During their short stay on the island, the teams managed some time-out between their gectic schedule to visit the famed Skara Brae Neolithic World Heritage site, along with The Ring of Brodgar.
